Consultation: Draft SACN Carbohydrates and Health report - June 2014

The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) consultation on its draft Carbohydrates and Health report is open for scientific comment. The new recommendations state that population intake of 'free sugars' should constitute no more than 5% of dietary energy, half of the current sugar intake in the UK. The recommendations, once finalised, will replace previous SACN recommendations from 1991.
Start of consultation: 26 June 2014
End of consultation: 1 September 2014

Once the consultation is closed, the SACN Carbohydrates Working Group will consider all scientific comments received. A further draft of the report and a table of consultation responses with actions taken will then be discussed and agreed by the SACN main committee at its next meeting on 5 November.
 
 
 
Consultation on improving the availability of allotments and community gardens

The Welsh Government are seeking views and opinions on proposals to improve the availability of land for allotments, to protect land for allotments and improve opportunities for community growing.
